Arsene Wenger has admitted that Lukasz Fabianski will not be available for this weekends trip to Fulham, and a handful of first team stars are slighty doubtful.
The Frenchman feels the likes of Wilshere, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla will be fine but face a fitness test tomorrow morning.
Rosicky failed to feature against Everton in Tuesday’s 0-0 draw, with Wenger managing the experienced Czech’s fitness to avoid a setback similarly to Wilshere. His potency in attack was missed as the Gunners lacked the killer instinct that was required to gain all three points.
Szczesny returned between the sticks and will be happy with his clean sheet as he aims to win back his number one spot in the absence of his compatriot. The competition between the two is beneficial for all parties and is certainly bringing out the best in the stoppers.
Wenger revealed the following team news at his usual pre-match press conference:
[On Fabianski] Fabianski is not back. The keeper situation is similar to what it was before. It is a rib injury. It is game to game for him.
- Agent of exiled Mesut Ozil warns Arsenal that the truth will be revealed
- Arsenal overtaken by new frontrunners to sign Houssem Aouar in January
- Ex-Arsenal star favouring a move to America’s MLS to restart career
[On other team news] At the back everyone should available. In midfield we have a few people to check like Cazorla, Wilshere and Oxlade-Chamberlain. They will all have tests but I hope they should be alright.
[On Tomas Rosicky]
We have to test Rosicky who was not ready to start on Tuesday. There are a number of uncertainties about our squad but I will sort that out on Friday morning.
