Arsenal have been hit by another injury at the back with Arsene Wenger confirming that right-back Bacary Sagna has picked up a knee injury ahead of the Gunners upcoming clash with Aston Villa.
The Frenchman joins Kieran Gibbs on the sidelines as Arsenal try and get their Premier League campaign on track after suffering embarassing defeats to Blackburn and Bayern Munich, consequently eliminating them from FA Cup and Champions League (effectively).
Arsenal have had a torrid February, but still must soldier on to a top-four spot. Carl Jenkinson will no doubt return for the absent Sagna while Nacho Monreal will return at left-back after being ineligible to play for Arsenal in the Champions League.
Aston Villa lie just outside the relegation zone, but clearly Arsenal are vulnerable making the result anything but predictable. You can only hope the players respond and take responsibility.
Arsene Wenger revealed the following team news:
[On Bacary Sagna] Sagna has a problem with his knee. He will be out for Saturday certainly. I don’t think there are any other knocks really.
