Tony Pulis and Arsene Wenger have never exactly seen eye to eye, but the West Bromwich Albion manager has leant support to the struggling Arsenal manager and suggested we’ve been unlucky this season, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Baggies boss was speaking ahead of our Premier League clash this Thursday, highlighting the injuries we’ve had to deal with this season and how they’ve impacted our title credentials. We’ve been without the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, and Alexis Sanchez for large parts of the campaign, which would obviously impact any side.
He claims we have a title winning side when everyone’s fit, and while we are still missing a few key signings, it’s hard to disagree.
“Arsenal can beat any team in Europe on their day,” he said.
“And I think Arsene has been incredibly unlucky with injuries this season. He has missed big players at important times.
“Once all those players are fit, he has got a strong enough squad to win this league. He will be disappointed with the inconsistency but all the other clubs will be saying the same thing, apart from Leicester and Tottenham.”

We may not have the same quality and depth throughout the squad as say Manchester City, but you can’t for a minute suggest that we’re behind Leicester City and Tottenham in that regard. Both teams obviously have players who are performing superbly – Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane, and Dele Alli to name a few – but on paper we definitely have a title winning squad.
Arsenal transfer news
We should be doing a lot better than we have been this season, and although beyond the top four there’s very little to play for now, we should be looking to make a statement against West Brom this Thursday.
