The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal want Francis Cagigao to replace the outgoing Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat.
With Sven Mislintat’s departure date set for early February, the search is well underway at Arsenal to find his replacement.
Now, the BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal want to look internally to solve this problem by appointing Francis Cagigao.
Cagigao is an English scout who was credited with the discovery of Cesc Fabregas at FC Barcelona and encouraged Arsene Wenger to sign Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi at the time.

Ornstein also claimed that the club has looked at AS Roma chief Monchi as a potential appointment for the vacant Technical Director position.

Monchi worked with Unai Emery at Sevilla and has built a reputation in Europe for his approach to transfers.
Francis Cagigao seems like a good appointment. The Englishman has worked for Arsenal for a long time and has spotted some of the club’s best signings in the last decade or so. Regarding Monchi, that could be interesting too. His approach to the transfer market is well known and could benefit Arsenal better than it has at AS Roma.
