The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal will spend £32 million on two new additions today.
It’s deadline day and Arsenal are closing in on completing transfers for two new players, according to wide reports.
The BBC’s David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal and Celtic have agreed on a £25 million package to sign Kieran Tierney, ending their lengthy pursuit.
The deal was struck last night, putting an end to the months of speculation in the Scottish international left-back.
Another – perhaps more surprising – deal is the one for the David Luiz. Arsenal have agreed on an £8 million deal which will see him move across London from Chelsea.
The club has been in the market for a new centre-back for a long time but the links with Luiz only seem to have taken place in the last 24 hours.
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign centre-back David Luiz for £8m. 32yo Brazil international will sign a 2yr contract. Deal for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney 5yrs, fee £25m. Medicals today ahead of putting pen to paper before 5pm deadline #AFC #CFC #CelticFc

Now, a deal looks close to completion with Arsenal expected to finalise agreements for both players today.
It’s a good piece of business. Kieran Tierney is a long-term signing who will add a lot to the club’s left flank. Meanwhile, David Luiz is a player who can instantly improve the squad and his abilities in possession will seriously help the Gunners this season. The big plus is that both players are arriving at an excellent price in a window where Harry Maguire costs £80 million and Tyrone Mings costs £20 million.
