The BBC’s David Ornstein has confirmed that Arsenal are in talks with a number of clubs over the exit of Shkodran Mustafi.
Ask most Arsenal fans who they’d most like to see the back of amongst this current squad and Shkodran Mustafi will be the most common answer.
The German defender has been a disappointing signing since his 2016 arrival from Valencia with inconsistent and error-prone performances.
The 27-year-old still has two years remaining on his Gunners contract but has been linked with a move away from the club ever since his arrival.
Arsenal in talks with number of clubs over Shkodran Mustafi exit. 27yo (contract until 2021) wants to stay + prove himself. But #AFC want permanent or loan departure. Also hope to bolster central defence pre-deadline & retain interest in Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney #CelticFC

Yesterday, reports in France suggested that the Gunners are in talks with Ligue 1 side Monaco over the centre-back.
Now, the BBC’s David Ornstein has confirmed the news, claiming that Arsenal are in talks with numerous clubs over the player who prefers to stay in North London.
It’s an interesting story. Arsenal have reportedly been trying to sell Shkodran Mustafi for several years but this might just be the summer to do it. Many Gunners fans would be glad to see the back of the 27-year-old whether it is a loan or permanent deal. However, with the Laurent Koscielny situation, the Gunners have some issues at centre-back.
