Petr Cech’s move to Arsenal looks set to be finalised in the coming days (via the Metro), and one of our other shot-stoppers may well be forced to make way.
It’s thought that David Ospina will be the one to be sacrificed, and the latest revelation that he refuses to return to the bench (via the Mirror) all but confirms that.

Arsenal XI of most expensive signings, with Cech set to become our record breaking shot-stopper
The Colombian usurped Wojciech Szczesny as our No.1 in 2015, and was one of the top performing keepers in the Premier League in the second half of the season. It’s only natural that he would expect to keep that spot in 2015/16, but with the imminent arrival of Cech that is unlikely to happen.
The Mirror’s report claims he is set for talks following his return from the Copa America, with the shot-stopper set to demand an exit from the Emirates. It goes on to suggest that both Fenerbahce and Marseille are keen on signing the 26-year-old, so he won’t be short of suitors.
So it seems as though Szczesny is likely to be our No.2 next season, with Ospina getting the exit he wants after just a single season at the club. We signed him for a mere £3m last summer (via the BBC), and given his recent performances we will hopefully make a profit.
