Arsenal v Newcastle United
Barclays Premier League
Kick off: April 28, 2014 8:00 PM BST
The Gunners have a huge opportunity to open up a four point gap over Everton when a struggling Newcastle United side visit the Emirates on Monday evening.
Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey started last weekend in their win over Hull City and are certain to start again. There’s no fresh injury worries, with Wenger revealing the only doubt is Abou Diaby who has recently returned to first team training and played half of a U21 match against Chelsea. Kieran Gibbs remains injured however along with Jack Wilshere.
Nacho Monreal made a timely return to fitness last weekend with Thomas Vermaelen pulling out late with a hamstring complaint, the Gunners captain is expected to return to the squad this week but is unlikely to start.
In midfield, Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey will keep their places, the latter had a superb outing against Hull, scoring one and setting up the other two. Mesut Ozil play in front of the duo in the attacking midfield role.

Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski both had solid outings against the Tigers and will be expected to start once again. A little harsh for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who has been brilliant this year and injects some much needed pace into the side. Wouldn’t be the end of the world if Santi was dropped for the Ox. Podolski looks a sure starter though with four goals in his last two matches. Giroud will spearhead the attack.
Here is our predicted lineup:
Sagna Merts Kosc Monreal
