Mesut Ozil says he is happy at Arsenal and wants to stay at the club as speculation over his future continues as he enters the final year of his contract.
The Germany international is currently in Australia with the club on their pre-season tour and was asked about his future intentions.
Ozil is yet to sign a contract extension but says he would prefer to remain at the club and will continue negotiations when he is back in London.
“It is definitely my preference to stay,” he told Arsenal‘s official website. “It is such a great club and I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal.
“Once everyone is back in London we will sit down and discuss about the future.
“For now the most important thing is our pre-season and getting through the tour, training and getting fitness. When I’m back in London, we will sit down and discuss.”

Arsene Wenger has repeatedly insisted Ozil will stay at the club, and certainly there seems to be a distinct lack of interest in the World Cup winner at the moment.
Speculation has also claimed Ozil has been offered a new deal worth £280,000-per-week to extend his stay in north London.
