Mesut Özil has tipped international teammates Benedikt Howedes and Mats Hummels to succeed in the Premier League, and talked up the English top flight in the process, as reported by German publication Bild.
The German international took a while to adapt, but he is clearly enjoying his time in England. He returned to action a new man following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with time in the gym evidently paying off.
The World Cup winner is now acting as a spokesman for the Premier League, and claims his international teammates should join him in England, as it would suit them perfectly.
“I would recommend any player to come to England,” he said.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world. Here there are not only two teams fighting for the title but three or four and every team can beat any other team.

“The opponents never give up, even if they are 3-0 down. You are challenged all the time, as a player as well as physically. Mats and Benedikt have the qualities to make a mark at a big club here – if they want to, and that is obviously up to the individual to decide.”
Özil could be planting a seed though, and may well help facilitate a move for one of these stars if Arsene Wenger is interested.
