Mesut Özil has sent a message to Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista, and Aaron Ramsey ahead of our FA Cup quarter final clash with Watford, wishing the trio a speedy recovery after their injuries this past Tuesday.
The German was an unused substitute during our 4-0 win over Hull City in midweek, and has been handed an extended rest ahead of this weekend’s game.
Mertesacker, Gabriel, and Ramsey all featured briefly, but all three were injured during the course of the match. Özil took to Twitter to wish them well, while also congratulating the team on their place in the FA Cup quarter finals.

It would be a real blow to be without the trio for any length of time, as injuries have already destroyed our season. We’d be left extremely short in defence without two of our main centre-backs, and other injuries already sustained mean we really can’t afford to be without Ramsey in midfield either.
Mertesacker’s injury looked the least serious, and assuming the swelling has gone down it’s not impossible to think he might be fit for this weekend’s game. Gabriel could be out a little longer, but again you would hope his injury isn’t too serious. With Ramsey however, you could tell by the look on his face that it could potentially be a bad one.

Hopefully Özil gets his wish and all three recover quickly, and we’re able to build on this week’s victory and push on in the FA Cup and the Premier League.
