Reports suggest that Mesut Ozil is demanding the number 10 shirt at Arsenal if he is to sign a new contract at the club (via The Sun).
Contract negotiations can be difficult for both clubs and players, especially with some of the big name stars.
It seems that Mesut Ozil is no exception with his Arsenal contract negotiations still rumbling on ahead of the expiration of his current deal in the summer.
Now, reports suggest that Ozil’s latest demand is the number 10 shirt at Arsenal.
Ozil has worn number 11 since signing for the club in 2013 with midfielder Jack Wilshere holding the number 10 since Robin van Persie left in 2012.

The number 10 is reportedly keen to Ozil’s brand. He already wears the number for Germany and has in Instagram name @m10_official.
It’s a strange story but a somewhat believable one given the power some players carry today. Arsenal did take the number 9 shirt off Lucas Perez to give to Alexandre Lacazette but it seems unlikely that they would do the same to Jack Wilshere. The midfielder has been at the club since the age of 9 and has outperformed Ozil this season.
