Mesut Ozil has revealed Arsene Wenger wants him to score more for Arsenal but says the Gunners boss already knows he is “ice-cold” in front of goal.
The Germany international has been in fine form already this campaign, scoring seven goals, including his first senior hat-trick in the Champions League against Ludogorets.
Ozil have never managed more than eight goals in a season during his time in north London but looks on course to break that record and says his finishing is improving.
“The manager wants me to score lots of goals,” he told Arsenal Player. “He sees in training that when I have a chance, the ball mostly goes in.
“When we train on finishing, he sees that I score lots of goals. He knows that I’m ice-cold in front of goal and he wants to see that in matches.
“I’m doing that now – I go forward and, while I haven’t changed my game, I’m focusing on scoring goals myself too.

“Every year he comes to me says, ‘You need to score more than 10 goals this season – that needs to be your aim because you have the quality’. I’m trying to take that on.”
Ozil is currently enjoying a rest over the international break with Germany having left him out of their squad for their World Cup qualifier against San Marino and friendly with Italy.
The 28-year-old has already made 14 appearances for Arsenal this season and the club will be hoping he is fresh and firing when the Premier League resumes with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
