West Ham star Dimitri Payet has hinted he could be tempted by a move to Arsenal to play for Arsene Wenger’s side.
The Gunners boss has previously openly revealed his admiration for the France international who enjoyed a sensational campaign for the Hammers last season.
Payet followed that up with more impressive displays at Euro 2016 and has recently been linked with a move to the Gunners in the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old has been unable to consistently replicate last season’s form this year with Slaven Bilic’s side currently struggling in the Premier League table leading to speculation he could leave the club, despite the fact he only signed a new long-term deal earlier this year.
Payet now looks to have added fuel to those rumours by admitting he would enjoy himself playing for the Gunners.
“I read that Wenger considered me as the missing piece of Arsenal’s play, but he said nothing to me,” he told RMC Sport.

“We conceded five or six at home against them recently [a 5-1 home defeat for the Hammers].
“When you see them play, as a ball playing footballer, one could only enjoy oneself playing in this team. They are candidates for the title every year.”
Payet also admitted he misses playing in the Champions League but insists he is committed to helping the Hammers out of their current difficulties.
“The situation at the club affects me, but I’m an ambitious person,” he continued. “I’m in a fight with my club and I’m giving everything for them, to get out of this difficult situation, but I’m not closing the door to anything.
“I miss the Champions League … I’ve got some great years ahead of me and I want to enjoy them by playing in important competitions.
“If I’m forced to leave West Ham, it will be done according to the rules – the club will have its share of the cake. My coach understands that today’s situation does not suit me. I will ask the questions at the right time.”
