Petr Cech’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea have given him permission to speak to his choice of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Gunners the favourites to land his signature.
Arsenal transfer rumours
The 32-year-old goalkeeper has spent a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge predominately sitting on the substitutes bench, as back-up to the Blues’ new first-choice stopper, Thibaut Courtois.
Cech is desperate not to spend another year playing a bit-part role and has subsequently attracted interest from Besiktas and Paris Saint Germain, as well as Arsenal, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Thankfully, the same source suggests that we remain the leading candidates to score the Czech Republic international this summer. It’s an addition we’ve been crying out for all season, with Wojciech Szczesny struggling for form and David Ospina having yet to establish himself as the outstanding choice for the number one spot.
The move it seems, edged a little closer today, with Viktor Kolar telling talkSPORT: “Petr has a valid contract with his current club, however, I can confirm that we have been permitted by Chelsea to negotiate with interested parties and Petr has confirmed his interest to play regularly at a top club.”

Cech has been an outstanding player for our London rivals over the last decade, making almost 500 appearances during his 11 years at the club. He’s also won 15 major honours including four Premier League titles and the Champions League.
We’re next facing Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, and will likely have David Ospina between the sticks. Check the Man United v Arsenal odds with Bet Victor and make your predictions now. Get a Free £25 Bet when you sign up today.
