A goalkeeper is believed to be a priority ahead of next season, with Chelsea’s Petr Cech a reported target. The Czech international is now ready to tell the West London club he wants a switch to the Emirates this summer, as he is unhappy at having lost his place to Thibaut Courtois, according to Goal.

The 33-year-old is still one of the best shot-stoppers in the league, despite being second choice behind the young Belgian. He has been at Chelsea for 11 years, but finally seems ready to move on.
Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina have proved themselves solid keepers, but there is no question that we could improve on both players. Cech would arguably provide that improvement, although it could be a struggle to wrestle him away from Jose Mourinho.
As the report suggests however, Cech is keen to remain in London, and will request a transfer to the Emirates. Goal claims we are facing competition from Paris Saint-Germain (as well as Manchester United should David de Gea leave this summer), but the veteran shot-stopper has his heart set on Arsenal.
Chelsea are keen to retain Cech’s services, but it seems as though that may prove difficult. Mourinho claims if it were up to him Cech would be going nowhere, but the report suggests a bid of around £15m would be enough prise him away.

“If it was me, if it was my decision, the decision is Petr to stay. That’s it. It would be my decision for Petr to stay. Even against his will? Yes,” Mourinho said.
Cech would unquestionably be a fantastic signing, but £15m seems a little steep for a 33-year-old with just a year remaining on his current deal.
