Celebrity ‘Arsenal fan’ Piers Morgan claims Tottenham’s shock FA Cup loss against Crystal Palace could actually be a blow to Arsenal, as it will allow Mauricio Pochettino’s side to focus more on the Premier League.
Tottenham have been surprise challengers for the Premier League this season, but their title push has flown under the radar somewhat due to the heroics of Leicester City. They’re currently ahead of us on goal difference alone, and with a third of the season to go and Manchester City stuttering, it looks like the title is between the three of us.
Morgan claims Tottenham are now in a stronger positions in the league, but is he right?
Annoying that Spurs lost.
Will make them stronger for the League run-in.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 21, 2016
Obviously a few less FA Cup games will help them a little, and they won’t have quite as much rotation to worry about. But it’s only a few extra games, and don’t forgot Tottenham are still in the Europa League – while we seem likely to be booted out of the Champions League at the hands of Europe’s finest, Barcelona.
We didn’t exactly do ourselves any favours by drawing with Hull, and we’ve now got at least one more game to play over the next few weeks. Assuming we can navigate our way past the Tigers we’ll have another four or five games, but we shouldn’t be looking to just forget about the FA Cup anyway.

The Premier League is definitely our priority, but with some of the big hitters out we’re in with a great chance of lifting the cup for the third year in a row. A few more games shouldn’t really impact our ability to win the Premier League, and if it does then you could argue we don’t really deserve to win it.

If fewer games end up being the deciding factor then things are swinging more in Leicester’s favour, as Claudio Ranieri’s side only have 12 Premier League games to worry about between now and the end of the season.
