Robert Pires says he thinks Arsenal will sign Monaco hotshot Kylian Mbappe this summer but admits he will not come cheap after a sensational season with Monaco.
Arsene Wenger has admitted this week that Arsenal are interested in the youngster but hinted they could be priced out of a move for the teenager.
However, Pires feels he could make the move to Arsenal and feels he would thrive under Wenger in north London.
“I do think Arsenal will sign him. The problem is how much,” he told bWIN. “Mbappe has the potential to play for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger is the right manager to manage him.
“Monaco and Arsenal are very similar in clubs, so it won’t be much of a transition. The comparison [with Thierry Henry] is unnecessary, he’s not ready to be compared to Thierry.
“Mbappe is a very similar player but to compare the two players would be unfair.”

Pires also named Antoine Griezmann as the one player he would bring to the club if he could.
“Antoine Griezmann. He’s the perfect signing for Arsenal, but I know he’ll be very expensive,” he said.
“I think he’ll break the £100 million mark and I know Manchester United are keen to buy him, but for me, if I had the chance I would spend every penny I have on Griezmann. He’s one of the best players in the world not named Ronaldo or Messi.”
There’s no doubt Mbappe would be a sensational signing although the youngster is expected to have the pick of the top clubs this summer.
