RB) Hector Bellerin – 7
The Spaniard picked up from where he left off last season and should definitely start the season as our first choice right-back. Bellerin has become defensively sound and integrates will with our other players while in possession of the ball.
CB) Calum Chambers – 6
Chambers had a few defensive lapses in the first half and on one occasion lost Nicklas Bendtner, but the striker couldn’t finish. He later became calmer in his duties.
CB) Gabriel – 7
Gabriel was visibly vocal throughout and certainly aimed to take leadership in the absence of Per Mertesacker. Apart from one reckless challenge, he did well.
LB) Nacho Monreal – 7
Monreal, like Bellerin, certainly reaffirmed his status as our first choice in his position and offered a threat going forward while remaining stable defensively.
