RAM) Jack Wilshere – 7.5
Arguably our best player for parts of the game, looking lively and constantly trying to drive things forward. He probably should have scored with one great pass from Alexis Sanchez, but due to his fitness issues he was withdrawn after just over an hour.
Substitute: Mohamed Elneny – 7.0
A solid passing performance in midfield, but in the box he was sloppy. He really should have scored with one great chance, but instead skied it over the bar needlessly.
LAM) Alexis Sanchez – 7.5
The Chilean has looked excellent recently, and was once again on form against Villa. He was unlucky not to get a goal, although he essentially got an assist for Mikel Arteta’s goal – which will unfortunately go down as an own goal.

ST) Olivier Giroud – 9.0
Not only did he get us off to a flying start, but the Frenchman also completed his hat-trick with two late second half goals. We still need a new striker this summer, but at least Giroud is back among the goals.
