Arsenal close in on bargain £10.8m transfer of Barcelona star
Here is how we rate the Arsenal players from our goalless draw with Sunderland:
GK) David Ospina – 7.5

The shot-stopper had very little to do, but he was there when we needed him. Sunderland arguably had the best chances of the game, but Ospina was alert to the danger and made a couple of fantastic saves – including a fingertip save to deny Steven Fletcher.
RB) Hector Bellerin – 6.5
An excellent attacking outlet, but was caught out of position more than a few times as we pushed for the winner.
CB) Laurent Koscielny – 6.5
Was hugely important to the effectiveness of our high line, and made a number of fantastic interceptions.
CB) Per Mertesacker – 6.0
The giant German’s lack of pace was really highlighted in the second half when we pushed further and further up the field. Fletcher got the better of him a few times, and we were lucky not to be punished.
LB) Kieran Gibbs – 6.5
His first start in a while, he looked a little off the pace. He didn’t do anything wrong, but his use of the ball could have been far better.
