Everton 2 v 2 Arsenal
Kick off: August 23th, 2014 17.30 PM BST
The Gunners fell behind to Coleman’s opener and Naismith’s offside effort and never really looked like coming back until a brilliant pass from Cazorla made it easy for Ramsey, while half-time substitute Olivier Giroud earned us a point with a solid header from Monreal’s perfect cross.
Definitely take the point considering our lack of cohesion.
Here are the player ratings:
Szczesny 6.5: Couldn’t do anything about the goals and was let down by his teammates.

Debuchy 6.5: Got forward brilliantly in the early stages and worked hard to create something down the right.
Mertesacker 6.0: Hard done by with his yellow card and was saved blushes with his slip. Was fouled by Lukaku too for the second goal. Lacks some sharpness.
Chambers 5.0: A mixed performance from the young Englishman. Demonstrated his physical presence early on when he dominated Pienaar in the air and distributed well, but was caught flat footed in the Mirallas chance and handed the Belgian a free kick in a dangerous spot. Should’ve done better against Lukaku for the second goal.
Monreal 6.5: Largely an average match from the Spaniard. Got forward more later in the second half and provided a superb ball for Giroud. Certainly made up for some of his wayward passing.
Flamini 6.0: Did well at times but was a little sloppy like the rest of the midfield. Put in some good tackles, but also a typical Flamini challenge earned him a yellow card. What’s new?
Ramsey 6.0: Very un-Ramsey-like today. Hardly contributed in attack for the vast majority of the game, perhaps was rocked by the red card on Tuesday night. But made up for it with another goal, right place, right time.
Wilshere 5.0: Actually thought he contributed more to Arsenal’s passing game than Ramsey but wasted possession with silly flicks at times too. Was booked for a late challenge on Barry. No doubt the critics will be out on the Englishman, but it’s not like he had much support from his teammates. Replaced by Cazorla who was perhaps a more obvious choice.
Ozil 5.0: Pathetic tracking for Coleman’s opener and a bit of a disappointing return from the German. Needs a more natural left winger to allow him more freedom to roam in the centre and provide more outlets.
Ox 6.5: Our biggest threat in the opening half, managing all of our five attempts on goal in the opening 40 but never quite connected. Set up Giroud beautifully from the get go in the second half but faded later on. Replaced by Campbell.
Alexis 5.0: Struggled up front and was very isolated. Was replaced at half time by Giroud. Give him time though Gooners.
45′ Giroud 7.5 (MOTM): Did well when he came on, had a couple of shots, worked hard and scored a brilliant headed equalizer. Nice work Olivier.
74′ Cazorla 7.0: Gets a decent rating from his tidy ball to set up Ramsey.
74′ Campbell 6.5: Wasn’t able to contribute a whole deal but put in a couple good balls. Nice to see him make an appearance.
