It wasn’t the prettiest of games, but Arsenal got the win over North London rivals Tottenham in the Capital One Cup third round. Mathieu Flamini was the star of the show, with the midfielder bagging a brace against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
It was unclear whether Flamini had a future at the club at one point, but he has certainly given Arsene Wenger something to think about with this performance.
Here is how we rate the Arsenal players following our 2-1 win over Tottenham:
GK) David Ospina – 6.5
A mixed game from the Colombian, who at times looked confident and commanding, but made a handful of bizarre mistakes. He spilled a couple of balls he should have held onto, one almost palmed into his own net.
LB) Keiran Gibbs – 7.5

A really solid performance from the left-back, who has often looked defensively susceptible in the past. He put in some important challenges, and his pace was important to deal with the Tottenham counter. He also made a game saving clearance off the line from a Harry Kane shot.
RB) Mathieu Debuchy – 5.0
The Frenchman looked really rusty yet again, and it’s easy to see why he has lost his place to Hector Bellerin. His positioning was particularly poor, and he was badly exposed by Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose.
CB) Per Mertesacker – 7.0
The giant German looked like he hadn’t been away, but while he put in a solid performance against Tottenham, he arguably hasn’t done enough to displace Gabriel.
CB) Calum Chambers – 6.0
A bit of poor play led to the youngster scoring an own goal, and he looked lacking in confidence at times. He put in a decent shift though, and looked far better than he did in his last start against Liverpool.
