According to reports in Italy, Lukas Podolski is on the verge of joining Inter Milan on a temporary basis with a view to buy the 29-year-old in the summer.
The Germany international has grown frustrated with his lack of game time this season and appears to be on the fringes of a mid-season departure with Roberto Mancini closing in on the attackers signature.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have spread the word that an agreement is in place to see Podolski depart on Monday when the transfer window opens in Italy. The club are hoping to have everything all set in stone ASAP so the World Cup winner can face Serie A champions Juventus next week.
Arsene Wenger confirmed yesterday the Serie A outfit launched a ‘farcical’ bid that was swiftly rejected by the north London but expects them to return with improved terms.
It appears Podolski has agreed to lower his incredibly high pay package in order to secure a departure this month.
