Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked once again with a move to Arsenal (via the Mirror), but he’s come out to confirm that he’s happy at Borussia Dortmund and has no intention of leaving, as reported by the Daily Mail.
As the Mirror states, recent reports suggested Arsene Wenger was willing to do everything in his power to land the Gabon international, including sanctioning a record breaking bid. If you believed the reports, not only would Aubameyang have become Arsenal’s record signing, but also the Premier League’s.
The 26-year-old reiterated that Real Madrid is the club he wants to play for though, and claimed until then he was happy with Dortmund.
“Dortmund is a city which is totally crazy about football, in the last years, we have the highest average attendance in Europe. The city is safe and my family feels at home,” he said.
“I’ve never made a secret of [the fact] I would someday like to play for Real Madrid, but I also have not extended my contract at BVB until 2020 without a reason. I feel very good here.”
This is nothing new, and is really just the same old story we’ve heard several times before. We’re regularly linked with Aubameyang, only for him to come out shortly after to confirm his allegiances lie with Dortmund. The story then goes quiet for a few months, before resurfacing again ahead of the next transfer window. The transfer fee being touted goes up and up, and then the pacy striker is forced to come out and once again rubbish the rumours.

We should really just accept that he has no interest in coming to Arsenal, and unless something changes drastically – like if Dortmund were relegated last season – then it’s hard to see him leaving the Bundesliga side for anyone other than Real Madrid.
