Our demand for a defensive midfielder is probably the worst kept secret in football.
The media are linking us with countless central players, but it’s this six which have most caught our attention at All Arsenal.
We’ve ranked them from 6-1 in terms of how suitable a signing we think they’d be, and how much we’d like to see them arrive before the 2015/16 season starts.
6) Nabil Bentaleb – Tottenham (Linked in the Daily Star)
Bentaleb is getting increasingly frustrated by Spurs’ inability to offer him sufficient contract terms.

“I’ve been working really hard and it’s normal for me to want to get rewarded,” he recently said, mentioned in the Star…
“We’ve been negotiating for nearly nine months now, since September, and it’s getting really long and, of course, I’m getting a little bit tired of it.”
The left-footer is talented, and performs a number of midfield duties, include passing and tackling, pretty admirably. But he’s only 20-years-old, and the reason we’re ranking him last in this list is because we need some proper experience and leadership skills in the centre of the park.
Regardless of Bentaleb’s potential, he doesn’t provide this yet, and we need someone to come in straight away and make a different to our potentially title-winning side.
