We’ve got a serious task ahead of us this Tuesday, and we’ll need to be at our best in order to come out of it unscathed. Barcelona are unquestionably among the best teams in the world, and are arguably the favourites to lift the trophy consecutively for the first time ever.
Arsene Wenger has some decisions to make, whether he wants to go all out for the win or prioritise other competitions.
Here’s how we think Arsenal will line up against Barcelona:
GK) Petr Cech
The Czech keeper has a phenomenal record against Barcelona, and there shouldn’t be any questioning his place in the team.

RB) Hector Bellerin
The Spaniard was rested against Hull City, with Calum Chambers getting the nod at right-back instead. Hopefully this will mean he’s fully rested and ready to destroy the team which gave him much of his footballing education.
LB) Nacho Monreal
Similarly, Monreal was also handed a bit of a break, and it was certainly noticeable as our flanks were far weaker.
CB) Per Mertesacker
With Gabriel Paulista unavailable, we should see a centre-back pairing of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny. Questions have obviously been raised over the quality of the German, but as we’re likely to concede most of the possession to Barcelona and play a little deeper than usual, it’s possible the World Cup winner could end up shining.
CB) Laurent Koscielny
The best defender on our books and likely to be a key part of keeping the La Liga side out. Definitely one of the first names on the teamsheet.
