With our third game in a week coming up on Sunday, Arsene Wenger may need to make a few more changes to keep things fresh. This is still a must win game given our situation and the teams around us, and the fact that Sunderland are battling relegation makes the task all the more difficult.
This is how we think Arsenal will lineup against Sunderland:
GK) Petr Cech
He didn’t have much to do against West Bromwich Albion, but might have more to do against a relegation threatened Sunderland.
RB) Hector Bellerin
- Arsenal must outmanoeuvre Galatasaray to win race for £2m ‘bargain’ transfer
- Arsenal reportedly set to sign free agent after impressive trial
- Arsenal have ‘concrete interest’ in signing Bayern Munich II star
It was another superb performance from Bellerin in midweek, and with Calum Chambers the only other option he should keep his place.
LB) Nacho Monreal
Kieran Gibbs is out due to a back injury, so Monreal should also keep his place at left-back.
CB) Per Mertesacker
The German gets a huge amount of criticism, but we looked a lot stronger with he and Laurent Koscielny at centre-back.
CB) Laurent Koscielny
It seems unlikely that Wenger will put Gabriel Paulista back in after a solid performance from Koscielny and Mertesacker, but rotation is always possible.
