Arsenal v Besiktas
UEFA Champions League qualifier (2nd leg)
Kick off: August 27, 2014 7:45 PM BST
The injury list is mounting with three first choice players already missing in Olivier Giroud, Mikel Arteta and Kieran Gibbs, however the latter two should be back soon. Add to that the suspension of Aaron Ramsey and no Theo Walcott, the squad is starting to be stretched for an extremely vital game. Arsenal MUST keep a clean sheet and bang in a goal or few.
Per Mertesacker should be partnered by Laurent Koscielny if the Frenchman is fit. He sat out the Everton tie due to this Achilles problem which is becoming a real worry.
Calum Chambers did okay at the weekend overall but did make some mistakes. He will be on the bench as backup to the centre halves and Mathieu Debuchy. Nacho Monreal will start on the left and hopefully he will build upon that sumptuous assist at the weekend.
In central midfield it seems a straight forward selection of Mathieu Flamini, Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil. With Aaron Ramsey suspended, let’s hope Wilshere can produce a solid performance. Out wide Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should start on the right with a fresh Santi Cazorla coming onto the left.

To answer the initial question, Alexis Sanchez is our only option up front or Lukas Podolski. Yaya Sanogo has struggled with injury recently, while Podolski looks set to stay now Giroud is injured but he’s only just returned to training. For me it’s Alexis. He would be working hard in training up front and will soon gel with his teammates. Do you agree?
Here is our predicted lineup:
Debuchy Mertesacker (c) Koscielny Monreal
