The Gunners travel to Newcastle to face the Magpies in the Premier League this weekend and will do so without the services of Aaron Ramsey due to his thigh strain sustained against West Ham.
Jack Wilshere seems the likely candidate to replace the Welshman who has been Arsenal’s best player this season, while Mesut Ozil could be afforded a rest with Santi Cazorla once again showing his brilliance at playing in the number 10 role during the week.
At the back Laurent Kosicleny could well be integrated back into the Gunners lineup after returning to fitness, however captain Thomas Vermaelen has done well in the Frenchman’s absence so there is no need to rush him back into action after he sustained a nasty gash to his knee against City earlier this month.
So in midfield Mikel Arteta will likely start once more with Wenger proving he is the firm favourite in the holding midfield role. Ahead of him will be Wilshere and either Ozil or Cazorla.
Out wide, Theo Walcott will be hoping to expand on his blistering away form and start on the right wing. On the left, if Cazorla does not start centrally he will most likely be on the flank or else the fit-again Tomas Rosicky could be inline for another start.

Although Lukas Podolski had a fantastic outing against the Hammers, he may be saved for the Cardiff tie before he starts and will be substituted later on.
Olivier Giroud will also be afforded a rest in due course, whether that will be Podolski coming in or Bendtner it remains to be seen, but he will most likely sit out the Cardiff home tie rather than Newcastle.
Wenger likes to make minor changes to his side so as to not lose coherence, Lineup 1 seems more likely.
