Just as news of ex-Aston Villa Ashley Young winger becomes yet another signing for Manchester united, it makes you wonder when the first Arsenal signing will actually eventuate. The gunners have been linked to all sorts of players, but still nothing is concrete. News of Gervinho were heating up, but it seems to have gone cold, I guess no news is good news in this case, and we just have to be patient!
The Samba situation has been ongoing since the end of the season, and with the Blackburn defender already admitting that he wants to leave Ewood Park for Arsenal, today revealed that talks were ongoing with Blackburn and “some clubs”, and he really hopes that his club don’t “put a stick in the wheels”.
His manager Steve Kean indicated that the club would not be letting Samba leave cheaply after he signed a new five-year contract in January, and even said “We don’t have to sell him.” But Samba has other ideas! He said: “I know there are discussions with some clubs,”
“If a good opportunity arises, I want to seize it. It is necessary that the club understands that I want to go one step further. I hope they will not put a stick in the wheels. It’s been four and a half years I have been at Blackburn and two years I have played in relegation battles.”
Common Samba, come to a top club! I really do feel that Samba will be an excellent addition to our squad and will be a great partner for Vermaelen in the centre of the defence. And at £10-12 million pounds he’s a bargain for a lad with 4 years left on a contract.
