Earlier we posted an article regarding Atletico Madrid’s desire to lure Santi Cazorla away from the club, with La Liga expert Guillem Balague claiming on Sky Sports that all that was left was for the La Liga side to agree a fee with Arsenal.
Even at the time of writing however, we were skeptical over the likelihood of a move. The Spaniard has been in sensational form recently, and is playing arguably some of the best football of his career. Why he would want to leave, and even more importantly why we would want to let him go, is therefore a mystery.
It seems we were right to have our doubts, as news which looks to quash these rumours has already surfaced.
Spanish journalist Kike Marin took to Twitter to rubbish the reports, revealing that Cazorla is extremely happy at the Emirates. So much so in fact, that the 30-year-old has even bought a house in London recently.

We have no reason to sell our diminutive midfielder, and it’s difficult to see him making the switch to Diego Simeone’s side at this point anyway.
Even with the arrival of sensational summer signing Alexis Sanchez and the rejuvenated Mesut Özil, Cazorla has been one of our most important and influential players this season. He seems to be very happy at Arsenal, and we are very happy to have him; so hands off Simeone!
