Edinson Cavani is a reported target for Atletico Madrid this summer, and the player himself has admitted that a move is possible (via Goal). If he were to make the switch it could potentially benefit us, with Antoine Griezmann more likely to be available if the La Liga side have already found a replacement.

Griezmann’s agent recently revealed that the forward could potentially be on the move this summer (via the Daily Mail), and while he hasn’t been expressly linked with Arsenal, if he is available we should definitely be looking at the Frenchman.
If Cavani were to make the switch to Spain then Atletico would presumably be far more willing to listen to offers for Griezmann, and the Uruguayan forward certainly didn’t rule out a move with his recent comments.
“It’s a really competitive team that has demonstrated interest in me and that pleases me, you never know if things could go further,” Cavani said (via Goal).

It’s always possible we could make a move for Cavani too, but the South American striker is approaching 30-years-old and would be nothing more than a temporary solution. Griezmann meanwhile, at just 25-years-old, would be a fantastic signing – albeit significantly more expensive – and could be a mainstay at Arsenal for years.
Arsenal transfer news
We unquestionably need a new striker this summer, as we can’t possibly begin the season with just Olivier Giroud as our only option. Arsenal fans will be hoping for a major marquee signing, and Griezmann would definitely tick that box. There are a real lack of top quality strikers available at the moment, but if one does become available we can’t afford to miss out.
