Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey says he never had any doubts he would recover from his broken leg and eventually become a top player.
The Welshman who was signed by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as a 17 year old in 2008, has been one of the stand out performers so far this season, scoring 13 goals in all competitions from midfield. It appears he has finally turned a corner in his Arsenal career after suffering a horrific broken leg in a 1-0 loss to Stoke City at the Britannia in 2010.
The 22 year old revealed that he had to overcome a series of mental and physical hurdles over the past few years but the Gunners star feels that it has all clicked into place this season.
According to Sky Sports, he said:
I had a few conversations with the boss and with my family and just went back to playing the way that I knew I could – getting stuck in again.
I had to overcome the mental side of what I was going through.

It was really difficult for me, but you just have to keep trying to believe in yourself and your ability, and that you will show everybody what you are capable of in the end.
It will all just click into place and then well you sort of just forget how it was before.
Hopefully now I have changed a lot of people’s opinion again.
Ramsey is really pleased with the way the team is playing and is hoping that they can continue their good form in the New year too in their quest for silverware. He added:
It is going really well for me at the moment.
You know I am really pleased with the way I am playing and the team is playing.
Hopefully we can just continue that because you know our form after Christmas has been good over the last few seasons, so hopefully we can get ourselves in that position where we are in a good position to carry on.
Ramsey has been one of the most outstanding players in the Premiership since the start of the season and already looks to be a prime contender for the ‘Player of the Season’ award. However it has been a long road back to form for the young midfielder after suffering the terrible leg injury in early 2010. He now looks better than ever and has even won Arsenal’s Player of the Month award for an unprecedented five consecutive months.
Until the start of this season, his position in the Arsenal line up was far from certain and even faced a lot of criticism but once the season started, it didn’t take long to silence his critics. He had never scored more than three league goals in a season, but has already scored eight in 13 league matches and five in seven Champions League games.
His contribution is far more significant than just his new found goals, dictating Arsenal’s play on the pitch. If Ramsey can maintain this form for the rest of the season then he can establish himself as a genuine world class player and achieve very special things at the North London club.
