Arsenal travel to a tender Sunderland outfit who were absolutely battered last weekend to say the least with ex-Gunner Vito Mannone conceding eight goals to Southampton.
Jack Wilshere is ruled out through suspension meaning Aaron Ramsey slots straight in, Theo Walcott isn’t expected to be involved from the get-go after a lengthy spell. Wenger remains cautious with the England international, last thing we need is for Theo to suffer another setback.
Anyway, we will see Wojciech Szczesny return after missing the UCL win in midweek with the backline requiring a little bit of tinkering. For me I’d rather see Calum Chambers shift centrally to try and form a stronger partnership with Per Mertesacker. Hector Bellerin has shown his ability to play on the right, and Chambers is a stronger option at centre half than Nacho Monreal. The Spaniard should’ve done better for the Mo Diame goal last weekend and I feel we’ve been a little exposed centrally at the back and consequently Mertesacker’s been effected too.
Further forward we may see a return for captain Mikel Arteta or else Mathieu Flamini will get the nod again. Ramsey and Santi Cazorla will slot in centrally with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez on the wings.
Danny Welbeck will lead the line as per usual.
