Aaron Ramsey was more than happy to have a breather on Saturday, but enjoyed helping his side to claim victory over Norwich City – scoring and setting up Arsenal’s third and fourth goals.
The Wales midfielder set Emirate Stadium alight with a dazzling second half performance, and appears to be oozing confidence as his fine form in front of goal continues.
Arsenal’s third of the 4-1 victory over Norwich was largely down Ramsey’s composure where he feinted and dribbled his way through the Canaries defence, slotting past the in-form Ruddy with ease. In the past he has come under much criticism for his lack of goals, but the Gunners midfielder puts his current form down to confidence in his own ability.
Ramsey told Sky Sports after Saturday’s victory:
The boss said before the game that he was going to rest me today. I’ve played a lot of games recently, including two lots of 90 minutes for Wales.
But Mathieu got injured in the first half and I had to come on. I thoroughly enjoyed being out there, in front of our home fans, getting a win like that and going back to the top of the league.
At the start of the season you would have had better luck placing Super Bowl Bets than putting money on Ramsey to score more than half a dozen goals for the season, yet he continues to impress bagging his 11th goal for club and country this term. When asked why he continues to be prolific, Ramsey responded:
I’ve said this many times now to the media. I’ve always got into those positions in my career and not been so composed, but now I’m feeling really confident in front of goal, and comfortable putting the ball in the back of the net.
With the help of Ramsey, Arsenal lead the pack by two points in the Premier League. It seemed unlikely after the opening day loss to Aston Villa which seemed like it would follow the trend of woeful starts to the season for the Gunners, but Wenger’s side have regained confidence and the Welshman feels the players are enjoying their football because of it.

That’s what we’ve suffered with in the last few seasons – being quite slow to start.
But we’ve come out of the blocks after the first game, which was a big upset for us. We’ve started off really well and bounced back since then.
The confidence is high. Everyone’s playing with a smile on their face and enjoying themselves. We’re happy to be back at the top of the league and hopefully we can stay there for a long time now.
At the start of the campaign it was difficult to see Ramsey having a regular role this season. He impressed during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia, but it appeared he would be behind the likes of Wilshere, Arteta, Rosicky and Cazorla in the midfield pecking order not to mention new signing Mesut Ozil, but at the moment is essentially un-droppable. Wenger had no choice but to rotate him this weekend as the Welshman has played a crazy amount of minutes this season at such a high tempo, so it was unfortunate to lose Flamini early on in the fixture.
But Ramsey again demonstrated his quality with a fine second half performance despite taking awhile to settle into the tempo of the match and contributed an excellent goal and fine assist for Ozil after a sumptuous cross from Tomas Rosicky. He is truly unstoppable at the minute and is the clubs top scorer at present, he’s currently 3rd equal in the goal scoring rankings in the Premier League.
Unfortunately it is very unlikely he will be a contender for the golden boot despite his fine start, so you may be better off looking at the live Super Bowl 2014 betting options than placing a bet on the Welshman.. However may long his excellent form continue!
