Injuries. Can’t do without them. At least that seems to be the mentality at Arsenal. Our players spend so much time on the sidelines that at times you cannot help but wonder what exactly our medical staff are doing, and why other teams seem to have Terminators rather than humans playing for them.
Arsenal have always had a poor injury record, and this season has been no different, we are far and away the top team in the League when it comes to number of injuries suffered, and they all seem to happen to our first team players. And not just once in a while, we are literally losing players every single game.
Speaking at the press conference today, Wenger gave the usual reports; several players continue to be sidelined and both Koscielny and Monreal will be unavailable tomorrow. But what is most worrying was that Wenger said that Ramsey would also be out and confirmed that tests were done on the Welshman, but he refused to elaborate.
The Welshman has scored three goals over the past couple of games, and seemed to be finally finding his form from last season. But now, we have lost him until the New Year, according to this report in the Mirror. Not only is this a blow to the team, this means that we will be without Ozil, Wilshere AND Ramsey for the congested festive period. Somehow, it does not feel like the season to be merry anymore.
I’m hoping that the Mirror is just exaggerating and that Ramsey will be fit within a week, but knowing our luck I doubt it.
