The 22 year old was caught in possession as Dortmund took the lead through Henrikh Mkhitaryan, although the Gunners hit back through Olivier Giroud, a late Dortmund counter attack allowed Robert Lewandowski to claim victory for the visitors.
The Welshman felt the Gunners deserved at least a draw and conceded that he was disappointed in himself for gifting Dortmund a goal.
Speaking to the Arsenal official website, he said:
A draw would have been a fair result after the way we played in the second half.
I felt like we were in control of the game but then we switched off for 30 seconds, we were in their box and 30 seconds later the ball is in the back of our net.
I was disappointed as well with the way they scored their first goal, I got caught on the ball and that was disappointing. We were a bit slow to start but I thought after about 25 minutes we got into the game, we got our goal and then we took that into the second half.
Ramsey also praised Arsenal’s character to come back into the game and insists they will learn from not taking their chances in the second half. He added:
We were in control of the game, we didn’t look like we were going to concede, but then we did. That’s what happens [when you switch off].

We showed good character getting back into game… and we created a few chances in the second half and hit the bar. On another night we may have taken the lead but we have to learn from the way we defended for the second goal.
It was a tough game for the Gunners as Dortmund who are well known for their counter attacking lived up to their billing. It seemed like we were too narrow and were trying to be too intricate and the German team’s pressing made it very difficult.
On the whole it was a below par performance and we seemed to lack a little something in the final third, particularly when Cazorla wasn’t on the field. We didn’t deserve to lose but we also did not create enough opportunities to win the game.
The result will mean that Arsenal need points from their trip to Germany as the winner from that match will be in pole position to finish the group on top. Hopefully this is just a minor blip and we can bounce back against Palace.
