We have been linked with a move for Chelsea shot-stopper Petr Cech recently (via the Express), with the veteran keeper thought to be looking for a Stamford Bridge exit this summer.
The Express also reports that we are likely to miss out on our top target however, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho reluctant to sell to a rival.
If we were to sign a goalkeeper this summer, here are five options that we should be looking at, should the Czech prove unattainable.
5) Hugo Lloris – Tottenham
- Arsenal will have to meet new £30million asking price for 25-goal striker
- [Team news] Arsenal line up vs Burnley – Partey returns to strong XI
- Vote: Who do you want Arsenal to draw in the Europa League?
It would be a controversial move for the Frenchman to trade White Hart Lane for the Emirates, but he is certainly an excellent candidate.
He has consistently been one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League, and it’s a mystery how he has remained with Tottenham for so long.
The lure of Champions League football may prove too much for him, and if we can agree a fee then he would surely love a move down the road.
