Three of our stars have been nominated for this year’s PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award, but how do they stand up against the competition?
Santi Cazorla, Mesut Özil, and Alexis Sanchez have been named among the ten finalists, with the trio proving themselves invaluable during our excellent run.
Here is how we rank the nominees:
10) Philippe Coutinho
- Mesut Ozil to ‘terminate contract’ with Arsenal and join boyhood club
- [Player ratings] Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace: Flying save earns Gunners a drab point
- [Team news] Arsenal line up vs Crystal Palace – ‘Special’ star returns
I don’t even see how Liverpool’s playmaker has made the list, as there are far more deserving candidates in the Premier League.
He may have been decent this season, but he should be nowhere near this award.
9) John Terry
The Chelsea captain has been one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League this season, but he isn’t player of the year material.
If Jose Mourinho’s side hadn’t just won the league, Terry probably wouldn’t have even been nominated.
