Real Madrid are aiming poach Arsenal scout Francis Cagigao, as Rafa Benitez aims to strengthen his backroom staff following his summer move to the Bernabeu, the Mirror reports.
Cagigao is Arsene Wenger’s man in Spain and was responsible for Cesc Fabregas’s arrival from Barcelona, while also being involved in the deal to bring Jose Antonio Reyes to north London (via The Guardian).
According to the report, the former Barcelona player has been promoted by Wenger as a technical secretary in recent years, but is out of contract soon.
Benitez sees the Spaniard more as a coach and the lure of being handed an important role at arguably the biggest club in the world may tempt Cagigao.
However, as a Barcelona man, could he potentially see accepting this role as an act of betrayal?
