The Karim Benzema saga is still ongoing, with the story changing everyday. Recent reports suggest Real Madrid are resigned to letting the French forward leave the club however, with a £50m bid believed to be enough to prise him away, according to The Telegraph.
The report claims we are set to return with another bid for the 27-year-old, and that all signs suggest he will be allowed to leave. New Bernabeu boss Rafa Benitez is hoping to replace him with Alvaro Morata or Sergio Aguero (via The Telegraph), so this could be the perfect opportunity to make our move.
Arsene Wenger is known for taking his transfer business to the wire, so we may have to wait until closer to the end of the transfer window to see this deal reach a conclusion. He would be a fantastic signing if we can pull it off though, and we should be doing everything we can to make this deal happen.

Petr Cech has been our solitary signing this summer so far, and we could certainly still strengthen in certain areas. We are so close to building a team capable of challenging for the highest honours, and Benzema could be the missing piece of the puzzle.
