Karim Benzema is seemingly our top target this summer, and reports suggest we are still in with a chance of securing his signature, according to the Express.
The report claims a £40m bid would be enough to convince Real Madrid to sell, with the Spanish giants allegedly lining up Marco Reus as his replacement.
This news comes off the back of La Liga expert Guillem Balague rubbishing the reports, insisting that Benzema would be staying at the Bernabeu this season.
For those asking: no chance whatsoever of Benzema leaving Real Madrid this summer (so no way he will go to Arsenal)

Balague has been wrong in the past though, and said the same thing about Mesut Özil and Xabi Alonso before their respective moves to Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
Not sure who is coming with the idea but there is no way at all that Xabi Alonso is leaving Real Madrid

Ozil said no to Manchester United and Arsenal. So they are targeting big players

With the financial restraints lifted, we can easily afford the £40m being touted. We are so close to building a team that can challenge for the biggest trophies, and Benzema is certainly capable of helping us do just that.

Arsenal transfer news
The Express’ report claims Rafa Benitez is planning on making a move for Reus, but also unfortunately claims the transfer may be put off until the summer of 2016.
We need an elite striker now, so hopefully the German international makes the switch to Madrid sooner rather than later.
