Real Madrid are seemingly on the lookout for a new striker this summer, which could mean Karim Benzema finally making the switch to Arsenal, as reported by the Daily Star.

Arsene Wenger is known to be a big fan of his compatriot, as we’ve been linked with a move for the French forward ever since his days at Lyon. It wouldn’t be a summer transfer window without some speculation that we’re set to finally land Benzema, so once again we’re being tipped to sign the 28-year-old.
Benzema looks likely to be leaving Madrid this summer, as the La Liga giants are being heavily linked with a new striker. Robert Lewandowski appears to be their top target, but Bayern Munich don’t look likely to sell (via Sky Sports).
“One thing I know for sure, Robert Lewandowski will play in the upcoming season at Bayern Munich,” said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinze Rummenigge.
“There is no need to think anything else.”

Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems more likely to be allowed to leave if the price is right, and speculation is rife after the Gabon international was spotted at the San Siro for Madrid’s Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid (via AS).
Obviously both clubs are refusing to sell at the moment, but if the players are looking to force a move away and Madrid make a big enough offer, it’s definitely possible there could be a new arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu.
If Aubameyang or Lewandowski were to sign then that would more than likely spell the end for Karim Benzema, who despite being keen to remain at the club (via the Daily Star), probably wouldn’t be happy playing second fiddle.

The report suggests we’re facing competition from Manchester United and Jose Mourinho, which could obviously prove a problem. Hopefully the lure of Champions Leauge football would be enough though, and if Benzema is on the move then he chooses the Emirates.
