According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are looking to make their second free acquisition of the summer by re-signing Mathieu Flamini.
The Frenchman left the Gunners on a Bosman free back in 2008 joining AC Milan. He has since been released by the Italian outfit after spending five years with the Club and has been training with Arsene Wenger’s side in recent weeks as he seeks a new club.
The 29-year-old may have impressed Wenger enough to earn himself a new deal with the north London club, especially with the Arsenal boss admitting he is short on midfield numbers.
Flamini would help to bolster options in midfield and would be a tidy bit of business. He would however no doubt prevent Wenger from buying another midfielder. So for that reason I’d much rather see Arsenal invest in someone like Pogba who can add real steel to the Gunners midfield.
What are your thoughts Gooners? Do you think Arsenal should re-sign Flamini?
