Lionel Messi has apparently advised FC Barcelona to sign Arsenal star Mesut Ozil ahead of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho (via The Daily Star).
It seems unlikely that Mesut Ozil will remain at Arsenal for much longer despite his starring performance last weekend.
The German has been at the Emirates since 2013 but his current contract expires at the end of the season and is showing little indication of signing a new deal.
Now, FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi has apparently told his club to sign the Arsenal man instead of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.
Barca were heavily linked with a move for Coutinho in the summer but no deal could be reached and could now turn their attention to Ozil.

The German international spent four seasons at La Liga rivals Real Madrid prior to moving to the Emirates.
It;s unclear if there is any truth in these reports but Mesut Ozil would cost FC Barcelona a lot less than Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian was the subject of a late £140 million bid from the Spanish giants but a player in the last year of their contract wouldn’t fetch that. Still, Arsenal could make a decent return should they choose to cash in on Ozil in January.
