Various reports claim that the Arsenal players still think Alexis Sanchez is eager to leave the club despite his return to training on Tuesday (via The Daily Mail).
It’s the transfer story of the summer at the Emirates and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere soon, no matter how hard Arsene Wenger tries.
The future of Alexis Sanchez was always going to be the biggest signifier of a successful window at the Emirates and the story took another twist today.
After his delayed return to London and first Arsenal training session of the summer, Alexis Sanchez looked delighted to be back at the club.
Add to that Wenger’s repeated claims that he will stay in North London and you’d be forgiven for thinking that the story was finished but not if these reports are to be believed.
The Daily Mail claims that Sanchez’s Arsenal teammates are convinced he still wants to leave the club despite his return to training.

Whether these reports are reliable or not is a different matter. The things we know for certain are that Sanchez has a year left on his current deal and that Arsene Wenger has repeatedly said that he will not sell the Chilean, especially to a Premier League rival amid Manchester City and Chelsea interest. Let’s hope this gets resolved quickly and we can see Sanchez in an Arsenal shirt for many years to come.
