Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly held personal talks with Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in the Express.
The 19 year old midfielder progressed through the Ligue 1 champions’ youth ranks and was included in Laurent Blanc’s first team on a regular basis last season. His current deal expires in 2015 however and has already rejected fresh terms at the Parc des Princes on three occasions.
The report suggests PSG have given Rabiot permission to hold talks with the Gunners over a possible move. It is also suggested Wenger has spoken personally to the player to reinforce his desire to bring the youngster to the Emirates before the start of next month.
It further states the French giants are thought to want £5.5 million to let the midfielder leave this summer and Arsenal are reportedly willing to pay up. However the Gunners are certain to face competition for the exciting prospect with Chelsea known to be keen with both Juventus and Roma also monitoring the situation.

Rabiot is capable in playing anywhere in the midfield, from the holding role to a more box to box, attacking role. He is accurate with his passes, and mainly likes to play short.
He is an engine in the midfield constantly running ahead and tracking back. He is of a slight built, despite being 6 ft 2 inches, so he can’t physically beat an opponent, but his vision and positioning helps him exploit even small holes on the pitch while he cleverly finds space for himself.
Should we Buy?
With Mikel Arteta clearly in the latter stages of his career and Mathieu Flamini not seen as much more than able support Wenger would do well to bring in Rabiot, who is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in European football.
He would be a natural replacement for Arteta, however he would not provide the immediate World Class option that many Arsenal fans desire in that position. There is no denying his potential and the current contract situation allows for Arsenal to have a great chance of signing him.
