Arsenal’s struggle to constantly find the back of the net last season postponed their wait for a first Premier League title since 2004. However, Wenger looks to put this to an end by bolstering his attack with two key additions.
According to the Mirror, the north London giants are reportedly eyeing moves for both Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Lacazette. The two star signings could cost the Gunners a staggering £75m.
Arsenal have long been linked with both the Leicester City and Lyon aces, with rumors of a move to the English capital picking up pace in recent weeks.
Reports from Eurosport over the weekend suggest that the Algerian attacking midfielder has already made up his mind on a switch, with the PFA Player of the Season winner keen on Arsenal.
The Mirror also claim Everton are also interested in Mahrez, however Arsene Wenger’s side can offer the former Le Havre ace Champions League football. The British news outlet write that the player’s price is estimated at £35m.

Lacazette, on the other hand, appears destined to leave Lyon, with L’Equipe (via Foot Sur 7) reporting that the French attacker has informed his employers of his desire to leave Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
Having scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last term, Lacazette’s signing would come as a huge relief to the legion of Gunners supporters, especially after losing the Gonzalo Higuain race to Juventus. Unfortunately, the Mirror state that Lyon want £40m for the 25-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether Le Prof will go all out in this summer transfer window, splashing £75m before the new season kicks off. Both players tick the boxes of covering the areas that need reinforcing. Mahrez especially would represent a major coup and add some much needed goals from midfield, however Lacazette is not quite the calibre of striker the Gunners require. Is he a step up from Olivier Giroud? Considering the Frenchman was overlooked for Euro 2016 it’s easy to think not.
