Arsenal have reportedly identified two targets in Italy as the club steps up its pursuit of an Aaron Ramsey replacement (via Calcio Mercato).
The current Arsenal squad has a couple of weaknesses but there will be a pretty sizeable gap in midfield when Aaron Ramsey departs in the summer.
The Welshman has signed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus which will see him join the Italian side for next season.
The Gunners need a replacement for Ramsey and it seems as if the club is looking towards the Serie A for solutions.
The Italian publication Calcio Mercato has reported that the Gunners have identified Milan midfielder Franck Kessié as a potential target.

22-year-old Kessié has been a regular at the San Siro since 2017 and played against the Gunners in the Europa League last season.
#Arsenal is working to replace #Ramsey. #Gunners are interested in #Barella (Cagliari) and #Kessie (Milan). Connected destinies for the two clubs. If #Milan will close for Barella, they can sell Kessie#transfers #AFC

The other name on the list is Nicolò Barella, another 22-year-old midfielder who plays for Cagliari and the Italian national team.
Barella has even been touted as a potential target for Milan should they lose Kessie to one of the player’s Premier League admirers.
It’s an interesting story. Both players have impressed in Serie A but neither has really set the world alight. Kessie, in particular, was noticeably poor when he played against the Gunners in the Europa League last season. Both players are young, of course, but there are surely some better options out there for the Gunners.
